Barton Grange Marina is located on the Lancaster Canal, midway between the cities of Lancaster and Preston. Garstang is a pretty market town with a wide choice of independent shops, tea rooms and traditional pubs. Every Thursday is Market Day in Garstang. The stalls lining the High Street and Church Street offer a selection of local foods, clothing and decorative gifts. A great way to explore the town is to take the Garstang Heritage Trail – just pick up a map from the town hall. The historic town of Lancaster is a cultural gem and boasts a castle, museums and theatres. Williamson Park is a must-visit, with its iconic Ashton Memorial and 54 acres of park and woodlands with views across Morecambe Bay and to the Lake District Fells. Lancaster also offers a buzzy and eclectic nightlife with many unique bars and restaurants. Stunning scenery awaits in the Trough of Bowland which is a very popular destination for cyclists and walkers alike. Two of our favourite walks are the Haredon and Langden Circular which take in some of the most beautiful valleys in the North West. There is also a lovely selection of cafes to visit including Puddleducks at Dunsop Bridge. A lively university city, Preston is home to a thriving bar and café culture. It has a busy arts events calendar which is always worth checking out. The new Preston Markets are filled with stalls selling fresh Lancashire produce and there are a variety of dining options to choose from. The city also boasts a fantastic number of parks and gardens including Miller and Avenham. If it’s fun you’re after, Blackpool is the destination for you. The Pleasure Beach, Tower Ballroom and The Winter Gardens are just three of its famous attractions. With its mix of cabaret bars, piers, fish and chips and trams, there really is no place like it.
